According to the Remoaners, if the Brexit Party do well in next week’s European elections, it won’t be because the country favours Brexit, but because the voters were ‘subconsciously manipulated’ by the party’s logo.

This is the considered view of Professor Richard Bentall #FBPE, a specialist in clinical psychology. The logo, which features an arrow pointing towards the box it wants you to stick your cross in, is ‘an obvious cue to vote for the party’, which is a bad thing, apparently. He has written to the Electoral Commission to complain.

The clever design contains a ‘subliminal message’ that ‘the voter will not be aware of’ and will give the party an ‘unfair advantage’, he claims.

Change UK’s Anna Soubry takes a different view. In her eyes, the logo looks like a ‘house that’s fallen over’. A bit rich, considering few were impressed with Change UK’s monochrome barcode logo when it was finally unveiled.

But design differences aside, the Brexit Party’s has the advantage of actually appearing on the ballot paper, while Change UK was too disorganised to submit one in time for approval by the Electoral Commission.
